Born in Istanbul, 1979.
Although, most of the people calls him as Şadi or Sadi, his given name is Evren. His name “Şadi” comes from the name of his GrandPa, who was a Colonel and passed away before the birth of Evren. His father a civil engineer and his mother is a ceramic artist.
He has been raised in AnadoluHisarı where the street of his home is named after his GrandPa.
He has attended the elementary school in Lütfi Erçin İlkokulu at Beylerbeyi until 4th year and moved to Beylerbeyi İlkokulu until graduation. He has graduated with 5/5 full grade from elementary school. Tha started Beylerbeyi Ortaokulu and Beylerbeyi Lisesi for the mid and high schools. He was ranked first in high school among more than 800 students. He also finished the high school 1 semester earlier in 2.5 years.
He than started Yeditepe University Computer Science and Engineering Department in 1996. He has his first internship from Microsoft Turkey summer school, since he was ranked first in the department. After the internship he got an invitation to lecture about Microsoft Products from Ant Education and Consultancy and he lectured more than 200 classes in 4 years until his graduation. During his BSc. education he has internships from Microsoft, Coretech, ATİM (Anadolu Technology İşlem Merkezi) and he also founded his first company in 4th year of the university, Tek Computer.
Parallel to his academic life, he has always worked in the IT industry.
He has graduated from the computer science and engineering as ranked first in the department and second in the faculty and started MSc. in the same department together with research assistantship. Besides his thesis studies in Natural Language Processing in Artificial Intelligence field, he also expanded his first company in the computer parts assembly and hardware support field.
Before finishing the first Masters degree he also started a second degree in Science Technology and Society (STS) program from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and he has graduated with High Honor degree from the Computer Science and Engineering Master program at 2003 and STS program at 2004.
Between 2004 and 2005 he has completed his military obligation as a project officer in General Staff (the headquarters of Turkish Military).
Just after the accomplishment of his military obligation, he has started his PhD study in Yildiz Technical University, department of Computer Engineering at 2005. He also graduated from the PhD program with high honor and his thesis was about Artificial Intelligence again. Parallel to his PhD studies, he was still leading his hosting, software development, training and consultancy companies. Between 2005 to 2010, he has also lectured in Istanbul Ticaret University, Yeditepe University or Okan University at Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Anthropology and Industrial Engineering departments.
At 2010, he has resigned from IT Industry and decided to go full time academic life. He has closed/transferred or sold all his companies. At that time he was leading four companies with Hardware, Support, Eduction and Consultancy focuses.
His first full time academic job was Assistant prof. position at Okan University, Department of Computer Engineering. Just after 1 year, he has started at Istanbul University, Department of Computer Engineering with Assistant Professor position. For 3 years, between 2011 and 2013, he has lectured in the computer engineering department, also he was leading the software and ERP development team in the University, under the direct management of Rectorate’s office.
Starting from 2012 to 2015, he has attended to post-doc studies at University of Texas at Dallas, Computer Science department about the Big Data Analytics, especially streaming data analytics. He has more than 60 intercontinental flights within these 3 years between Istanbul and US. He also commissioned to Pavlodar State University at Kazakhstan for 1 semester for lecturing in Computer Science Department.
From 2013 to 2016, he has continued in Istanbul Medeniyet University, Business Administration Department. Within this time, he chaired the department and he also worked in Purdue University at Kuwait for 1 semester in the Computer Science Department. During his stay in Istanbul Medeniyet University, he also achieved the Assoc. Prof title from Inter University Council and promoted in the University.
After 2016, he has decided to go back to the industry and transferred to Istanbul Sehir University, Department of Management Information Systems. Just after 1 semester of lecturing classes in the University, he has moved to Massachusetts , US to the Smith College, Department of Computer Science as a Visiting Professor.
After spending 1 year in US, he turned back to Istanbul Sehir University and parallel to the academic studies, he has founded another company about the training and education at 2017 and transferred his consultancy and training contracts to his company in 2017. The name of this company is Bilkav Education and Consultancy and the company still operates in IT industry ( https://www.bilkav.com ).
At the end of 2018, he has founded OptiWisdom in US, San Francisco for the software development, marketing and artificial intelligence R&D. This company is also still operative (https://www.optiwisdom.com ).
